As a sector, we continue to show what is possible when we work collectively and with purpose. This month marks a major milestone for NatCORR, with confirmation of successful Disaster Ready Fund (Round 3) grant funding from the National Emergency Management Agency. This is an important endorsement of the work our community has been building together. This renewed funding will allow us to strengthen resilience across the outdoor sector even further over the next three years.
We were also proud to represent Australian outdoor organisations on the international stage, presenting at the 2025 Wilderness Risk Management Conference in Portland, Maine. These global conversations highlighted the shared challenges, and shared commitment, of those working outdoors in a changing climate.
Closer to home, we joined the International Day for Disaster Risk Reduction webinar, centred on “Fund Resilience, Not Disasters.” The message aligns strongly with NatCORR’s mission: investing early to reduce risk and support communities before disaster strikes.
